What We Do
Building Community Across Barriers
Everyone has a purpose, and when we take care of ourselves and those around us we are living out a part of our purpose. Sadly, due to abuse and marginalization, many people have lost the ability to care for themselves or have become disconnected from their communities.
Redemption Housing is a place for them, for those who are in recovery, for those who are regaining what has been lost. We are a point of connection. We are about relationships. We are about freedom. We are about transforming lives with brotherly love. Philadelphia is a hub of recovery services, with people traveling from around the region and even as far as Puerto Rico to begin the road to recovery. Unfortunately, most recovery homes suffer due to either a lack of funding or little formal oversight.
Redemption Housing sets itself apart in commitments to value residents as whole persons, and to collaborate with the broader community towards their holistic recovery.
“A better world will come about only if attention is first paid to individuals…if no one is neglected, including the poor, the sick, prisoners, the needy and the stranger.”
Pope Francis, World Day of Migrants and Refugees
