Grace and peace,

Here at Redemption Housing we are in the business of dignity restoration through the practice of sacred neighboring with returning citizens. There would be no neighboring without you! So, I would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to our Redemptive Partners for walking in stride with us as we mission onward.

We are grateful to all who joined and supported the bounce-back Day One Challenge event on Saturday, September 10, 2022. This scavenger-hunt style journey for which teams embarked was like no other tour they could have experienced in our beloved Philadelphia. We hope that you will fully avail yourself to the process, the person and the places returning citizens find themselves in so that we might be more compassionate and impactful neighbors. You have the ability to remind them that their walk is not in vain. And neither is ours!

How do I know this? Well, it’s because of our collective walk within the mission of reentry dignity that I am proud to announce WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!! Redemption Housing has secured the purchase of a property that will house our Barnabas House reentry program. To God be the glory!

Our walk is not in vain! With every intentional step we take individual lives are restored. That restored life can be the catalysts that reconciles the family. And the reconciled family is key to the revitalization of a community.

This new house is primed to be that sacred space but we need your help to make sure it’s ready to go by start of Jan 2023. The house is in good condition overall, but there is some additional refurbishment needed, and there will be startup costs to the new program. We are aiming to raise $30,000 to run this final mile and can also use the willing hands of volunteers to help us in the work to be ready for our next class of residents. Please consider helping however you are led!

Keep walking in peace and power,
Rev. Dr. Lori E. Banfield, MTS, DMFT
